15 Years on the Trowel

Indoor wall finishing, by a tradesman who's done it for 15 years.

I'm Jeremy. Fifteen years on the trowel and the roller, in central France. Plaster, drywall, primers, interior insulation, soundproofing, decorative finishes -- I do this work, then I write it up. Every product I recommend is one I've used. Every verdict is one of three: WORTH IT, MIXED, or SKIP.

What I reach for on any plaster older than 20 years. Locks down chalking, soaks porous patches, gives the topcoat something to bite on. One quart covers a small bedroom.

The eight things I write about

Eight interconnected clusters of indoor wall finishing work. Every article in every cluster comes from real jobsite experience, not desk research.

How I test products and pick verdicts

I use what I recommend. I track the products that hold up on jobsites and the ones that don't. The full methodology -- what I check, what I ignore, what disqualifies a product -- lives here.
